Team Leader Susumu KITAGAWA chosen as 2010 Thomson Reuters Citation Laureate

Susumu KITAGAWA, Team Leader of the Spatial Order Research Team at the RIKEN SPring-8 Center, was chosen as a 2010 Thomson Reuters Citation Laureate in the category of Chemistry. Dr. KITAGAWA is also a professor at Kyoto University and serves as the Deputy Director of the university's Institute for Integrated Cell-Material Sciences (iCeMS). He was awarded the prize for the design and development of porous metal-organic frameworks, whose applications include hydrogen and methane storage, gas purification, and gas separation, among others. Each year, Thomson Reuters uses data from its research solution to quantitatively determine the most influential researchers in the categories of Physiology or Medicine, Physics, Chemistry, and Economics. Based on citations to their works, the company names these high-impact researchers as Thomson Reuters Citation Laureates.
