Cheiron School was held
From Monday, September 29 to Wednesday, October 8, the SPring-8 campus hosted the Cheiron School*. This is a school to train people from Asia and Oceania in synchrotron radiation science and research using synchrotron radiation held by the Asia-Oceania Forum for Synchrotron Radiation Research, RIKEN, KEK, and JASRI. This was the second occasion the forum was held, and eighty students and young researchers participated. The participants had a packed schedule of lectures, experiments, and discussions, and enjoyed ten days full of activities. We hope that they will go on to bright futures in synchrotron radiation science.
※In Greek mythology, Cheiron was a centaur known for his skill in medicine and the martial arts.
