Expertise : Sadao Miura completed his PhD at the School of High Energy Accelerator Science of the Graduate University for Advanced Studies in 2006, with studies of the Precise microwave impedance matching method of the traveling-wave accelerator sections. He joined Mitsubishi Heavy Industries, Ltd. in 1990 as a Particle Accelerating System Design Engineer after finishing his master’s coursework at the University of Waseda. He developed an S-Band 3m long Accelerating Structure for KEK/ATF and the injector of SPring-8 from 1990 to 1996, an ARES Cavity for the KEK B-Factory from 1994 to 1998, and a Small C-Band Side Coupled Accelerating Structure for sterilization and medical use in 1999. He developed a C-Band Choke-Mode type Accelerating Structure in 2002 and supplied 128 structures to RIKEN/SACLA from 2008 to 2011. He now serves as a Team Manager in the Accelerator System Engineering Section of Mitsubishi Heavy Industries, Ltd.
