Expertise : Qun Shen completed his PhD in Physics at Purdue University in 1987 with thesis work on solution to the phase problem using the multi-beam interference. He joined the Cornell High Energy Synchrotron Source (CHESS) in 1987 first as a postdoctoral research associate and then as a staff scientist and Sr. scientist. In 2004, he joined Advanced Photon Source as Sr. Physicist and the Leader of the X-ray Microscopy and Imaging Group. He moved to Brookhaven National Laboratory in 2008 and led the experimental facilities at NSLS-II as the Director of the Experimental Facilities Division and in 2010-13 as the Director of the Photon Division for NSLS and NSLS-II. Since 2013 he became the Deputy Associate Laboratory Director for Photon Sciences Directorate at BNL and the Deputy Director for Science for NSLS-II.
