Expertise : Makoto Yoshida completed his master’s course at Kyoto University, and then joined Kyocera Corporation in 1981. He conducted studies of structural ceramics, mainly focused on Si3N4. He carried out the commercial production of ceramic turbo rotors for automobile engines. From 2001, he joined the development-project for solid oxide fuel cell (SOFC) systems as a project leader. As a result, the commercial production of SOFC stacks, the main components of home-cogeneration SOFC systems, launched in 2011. Building on his experience in the business and management promotion sections from 2010 to 2013, since then he has served as the general manager of the Components and Devices R&D group.
