Expertise : Hiroaki Takahashi completed his master’s degree of applied chemistry at Waseda University in 1995 with studies of catalysts for C1 chemistry, including Fischer-Tropsch reactions using metal nano-particles. He joined Toyota Motor Corporation in 1995 where he was in charge of R&D for catalyst materials for both automotive exhaust gas purification and fuel cells. He worked at Toyota Motor Europe in Belgium between 2011-2013 where he was in charge of management of advanced materials research, focusing mainly on catalysts, batteries, and photovoltaic materials (Quantum Dot). He returned to Toyota Japan in 2014 where he started materials analysis, focusing mainly on Li-ion batteries.
