Expertise : Dennis Mills received his PhD from Cornell University in 1979. He joined the Cornell High Energy Synchrotron Source (CHESS) as a post doc and then as a staff scientist developing beamlines, with a particular interest x-ray optics, monochromators, focusing optics, polarizing optics and time-resolved studies using the pulsed nature of synchrotron radiation. In 1988 he received a Gugggenheim Fellowship and spent time at the synchrotron source at Daresbury and as a visiting scientist at Argonne National Lab. In 1989 he joined the Advanced Photon Source team at Argonne as the Group Leader for X-ray Optics. In 1999 he was named the Director of the User Programs Division at APS. From 2002 to the present, he has served as the Deputy Associate Laboratory Director for Photon Science at Argonne and the Deputy Director of the Advanced Photon Source. |
