Functions of materials are produced by the quantum order formed by electrons in the materials. The quantum order means spin, energy excited state and space distribution of electrons in a material. To study the order in nano-scale makes creations of new material functions possible. We are going to develop measurement methods and new way to use of SPring-8. Further than X-ray structural analysis by usual synchrotron radiation, we investigate electronic order and material structure functions. Quantum Order Research Group consists of Spin Order Research Team, Excitation Order Research Team and Spatial Order Research Team. We promote our research activities with Structural Materials Science Laboratory and Project Team of Wako institute.
